Space… at long last!
We did it!! We moved in to our new house last weekend, besides a few hiccups getting the appliances, things went pretty well. The kids rooms are almost set up, there are just some toys and things that still need to get put away. There also seems to be a lot of boxes left in the garage though and I’m not sure at this point what is left out there that we really need. Maybe it will just be some stuff that we can give away… On a side note, I get to go shopping this weekend for blinds and a new table and chairs to go in the kitchen! Here’s hoping that I can get the ones I want before Christmas because this year we will be hosting Christmas dinner! I can’t wait to set up our tree and enjoy the space… and there is a lot of space!! It’s Awsome!!

Changes
Well, we officially give up possession of our current home at 15 Stewin as of this coming Wednesday at midnight. We have made some good memories there and I will miss it, although Mike says that he won’t. It was the first house that Mike and I bought together, it is where we spent 4 years of our lives together, along with our children and the dog. I am both sad and happy to be leaving the only area of Winnipeg I have ever lived in, it is where most of my friends are and of course my parents still live in Transcona.
I am way more excited than sad looking towards the future and the closer our new house gets to completion the happier I am. Nikkole is looking forward to going into the grade 2 – 3 split at Ryerson Elementary and Austen will be going into grade 9 at Acadia Junior High come September.
In the meantime we are living in Fort Richmond at my in-laws house. It is taking some getting used to, I have to say. My sister-in-law is being a gracious hostess and I hope that we can all make it the next few months with as little clashing as possible. Thank you very much to Connie and Lothar who have vacated the property and moved out to the lake so that we can take over their house and not be homeless while we wait for our house. Their sacrifice is greatly appreciated.
It is going to be a great adventure and I am all looking forward to it!
New Family Member
Yesterday I became an Aunty for the first time! My brother Brad and his wife Tracy had their first child at 11:56a.m. A beautiful healthy baby girl that they named Danica Patricia. Weighing in at 7lbs 8 oz and 20.5 inches long, she is a small wonder to behold. She has piles of dark hair already too! Congrats Brad and Tracy!!!

Home Sweet Home
So for the first time in 2 weeks I took a drive past our new home. From the outside I can’t say that it looks like they have gotten much done. Other than that all the shingles are up now, the door still doesn’t match the windows, and the house is too high to look in and spy on the progress inside. Although on the bright side we did hear from Qualico last week and they will replace the door for free with one that has a window that will match the windows on the rest of the front of the house, but it will take a month or so to come in. I think that soon it might be time to schedule another walk through with Joe so we can see what’s going on. I have to admit that it drives me a little crazy not knowing how far along the progress is inside. I hope to take a camera with us next time and have some new and updated photos to post.
I can’t wait to go home….
